Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within SMI. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Manages overall engineering budget and costs. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.

PAST EXPERIENCE

Program Manager, Skilled Manufacturing, Inc.

In charge of coordinating a variety of engineering projects. Duties included determining client requirements, estimating costs, allocating resources, leading project teams, liaising with contractors and suppliers, monitoring project progression, and reporting to senior managers. Main job requirements were engineering expertise, project management experience, networking, time management, being able to work under pressure, business acumen, and budget control.

Co-owner, Pinecrest Engineering

Ran Pinecrest Engineering, focused on the engineering side of the business while continuing to design progressive stamping dies. Managed 30+ employees at the height of the business. Emphasis on supporting existing customers and develping new ones at the same time. Gained tremendous experience in quoting all new customer work.

VP of Engineering, Pinecrest Engineering

Managed engineering teams for various types of projects. Hired and trained engineering staff. Conduced interviews, completed job reviews, and acted as mentors for engineers. Set and reviewed professional development goals for engineers. Made frequent checks on the progress of engineering projects. Met with lead engineers to discuss issues and work progression, ensured that projects are meeting specifications, and revised schedules or deadlines as necessary. Made sure that employees were working according to company policy and state and federal regulations.

CAD Designer, Pinecrest Engineering

Supported engineering projects by completing a variety of tasks, such as conducting inspections, preparing cost-benefit analyses, placing orders, verifying receipts, achieving target output, performing quality control checks, preventing product holds, and collaborating with managers and contractors. Experience in engineering expertise, customer service, organizational skills, teamwork, math skills, analytical thinking, and innovation. Designed and detailed progressive stamping dies, worked with customers through the entire build and PPAP runoff.
